EG-Index.
New: Here is an index made by Paul Valois (Leeds, United Kingdom), with a lot more information.
EG is a magazine which started in july 1965 and
is over 40 years the leading source about Chess Endgame studies.
ARVES is maintaining this magazine and on the
Internet the issues 1 to 150 are available as .pdf files, readable with
Acrobat-reader.
Here is an index which mainly gives the
subjects and the authors.
This index helps to find information but also
shows the value of EG.
Beside this it is a way to honour all the
contributors to EG and thereby to the Chess Endgame Study world, especially to
founder and still main editor A.J. Roycroft.
May be later the index will be extended with
more keyword information and a reference to the published studies.
Tip: If you have downloaded the EG .pdf files you can search them with Google Desktop or with Copernic.
You just have to download and install one of these free tools which offer a lot of search options in many types of files.
Then you simply can search on any term or text in the files.
These tools then give back the files in which this text is found. Then you open one or more of the EG.pdf files within AcrobatReader and you search again (with CTRL-F) and it will bring you to the page(s) where the text is.
(This index will grow slowly, also the gaps will be filled)
