Tata Steel Chess and Studies Day

The third international Tata Steel Chess and Studies Day will be held on Saturday, January 28th 2012

In Hotel Zeeduin, Relweg 59, 1949 EC Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands) as part of Tata Steel chess tournament and in collaboration with ARVES.

The hotel is located some 5-7 minutes walking from De Moriaan. You keep on straight pass the parking of De Moriaan, after the roundabout (rotonde) you turn left (direction of the official beach) and some 100 meters further you will see the hotel on your right handside. Parking behind the hotel is free. Bus No.78 will take you from Beverwijk station to Wijk aan Zee (get off one stop after De Moriaan).

Ask at the reception for the Duinzaal on the ground floor. Staunton chess sets will be provided however you may use your own sets too.Hot drinks and water will be be supplied for free during the solving session while sandwitches will be available for purchase.

Here is the time-table:

10:00- 10.30: Registration

10.45: Official opening

11.00 - 14.00: International Open Solving Competition of original studies

with a prize fund of 750 Euros and book prizes.

Special prizes will be awarded to the best newcomers and youth solvers.

14.00 - 17.00: Watching live the penultimate round of the world’s most famous chess tournaments with GM commentary.

17.30: Prize giving and presentation of the solutions.

Entry fee: 15 Euros; juniors (u-20) 10 Euros; GMs and IMs – free.
