Selection of studies composed by

William Anthony Shinkman (USA, 1847-1933).

Together with his contemporary Samuel Loyd,
he was the most famous chess composer in the USA in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
His work includes over 3500 compositions, making him one of the most productive composers ever.
672 of them are contained in the collection "The golden argosy" published in 1929 by Alain Campbell White.
The preface of this book comes from Shinkman's nephew Otto Wurzburg,
who was also an important composer.

At the schwalbe website are many of his problems showed.
