Axel Frydolf Ericsson (Sweden, 9.8.1901-12.2.1984)

Born in Vaggeryd, southern Sweden, he was an accountant on the City Council of this city.

Ericsson began in the composition at an old age, he was 54 when he became interested in problems and studies, of which he elaborated about fifty.
A selection of his works appeared in the small book "Studier av Axel Ericsson" (Uppsala, 1982) that its author A. Hildebrand dedicated to the composer and his wife Viola.

He had a predilection for the miniatures, which are solved with maneuvers of serene beauty. Participated in contests, obtaining significant praise and awards.
