Selected studies composed by

Ernst Frederik Holm (Sweden, 23.12.1879-1.1.1941).

Strong player and composer born in Ystad, by profession jeweler, whose first chess works, date from the beginning of the 20th century.

In addition to playing by correspondence and analyzing some openings of gambit, Holm was always involved in the diffusion of the study, in his country particularly through the magazine "Tidskrift för Schack"
A small collection of his compositions appeared after World War I in the book of S. Krenzisky (Berlin, 1921) and years later he published the small work "55 Schackstudier" (Ystad, 1937) with a selection of his best jobs.

Holm's studies are based on simple but very pleasant ideas. Brief development and sometimes with miniature presentations.

Studies selected by Mario Garcia.
