Romanian chess player, one of the founders of chess compositions in Romania.

Also a strong player who drew in 1890 a match with the German Master Jacques Mieses, tied for 6-10th at Mannheim in 1914

and several times became the champion of Bucharest.

As a composer he published about 1500 compositions of all genres, mainly three- and many-movers, studies.

Awarded with merits in 250 problems, including 35 first prizes.

Author of Problèmes choisis (1948).
