Amatzia assembled 33 short essays in which he discusses issues which are part of a study composer's everyday practice.

In 143 pages he uses many studies of other composers and also 70 works of his own creations.

From the many compositions used for the disucussed issues lets show only two.

In the first one, move 6 baffled Tim Krabbe and also Alain Pallier.

About the second one he writes:

The following study is crescendo from start to finish.

With themes mate, stalemate, zugzwang, fork, sacrifices, avoidance of capture, anti-stalemate, positional draw by repitition.

A nice booklet with a lot of insights of thoughts for (future) composers.
