Selection out of 121 studies composed by
Vitali Ivanovich Tyavlovsky
(Russia, 4.5.1928).
Featured Russian composer born in a village then Polish, who settled in Borzia, in the vicinity of Chitin, and work as a railway technician.
He began in the composition chess in 1956, arriving to create about 100 Studies that in their great majority are miniatures.
In the competitions where I participated - almost all of the country's foreigners - half of their production received distinctions, and of the score of six prizes won the highest reward.
In other aspects it should be noted that he was a chess leader; That in 1971 obtained the title of International Master FIDE for the chess composition and that 11 of his studies were selected and published in the Albumen of that institution.
Tyavlovski works preferentially in finals of smaller pieces that are almost all miniatures of five, six and seven pieces; And aside from the interest of the subject and its theoretical implications, one of the characteristics of these celebrated works is that sometimes they are enriched with an unexpected counterjuego of the blacks, which certainly is not easy to find with so little material in similar compositions.
